This Japanese Soba-Gara Makura (Buckwheat Hull Pillow) features a splendid red and deep red peony design (shown above) enhanced by gold accents. The high quality Japanese cotton fabric provides an ultra-soft sleep surface.

Faithful to Japanese tradition, the set features an inner case with a convenient 'hidden' zipper for adjusting the amount of buckwheat hulls used for filling to your personal comfort level. The outer sleeve is made of the same cotton sateen fabric, and, like the inner case, is machine washable.

We include a generous 3.5 pounds of double cleaned organic American fluffy buckwheat hulls - the preferred type of hulls for pillows. Unlike imported buckwheat hulls, these contain no dangerous chemicals from fumigation. Use them to fill the pillow to your preferred comfort level.

All our pillows are hand made by skilled craftsmen and designed to last for many years. This will quickly become your favorite pillow.
